AMA Teaching Philosophy
For those who aspire to make music the center of their lives, we hope to act as a guide for the complete development of their talent. This means working with students to promote a positive atmosphere of community within Amadeus, understanding each individual’s strengths and weaknesses, showing them how to overcome challenges, inspiring them to a personal best, encouraging critical thinking, fostering self-directed learning and curiosity, preserving the delicate balance between dreams and reality, and finally, teaching them to revel in the blessings of the art itself.
As pianists and mentors, we aim high, motivating and inspiring students while working alongside them to help them achieve their fullest potential, and supporting them through the inevitable challenges along the way. For us, this mission is endlessly intriguing and constantly evolving.
For those who want to learn and love music as an avocation, we would hope to show them the beauties of music to the extent they are able to invest time to partake, but more importantly, give them the desire and the ability to continue to explore on their own, hopefully for a lifetime.
